Here’s what’s on the docket so far this month:

Three weeks deep into rehearsals with Mesquite Symphony Orchestra. We’re preparing Dvořák’s Cello concerto with Tsun Emmanuel Kwok, John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine, and William Grant Still’s Afro-American Symphony. September 16, 2023, 7:30 PM, online or in person. mesquitesymphony.org

I think that’s it for the month. I’ll be writing and sharing more about the process behind all of these moving parts, not because anyone following might find it interesting (although, if you do - great!), but for 20-year-old me, who would’ve found this and the behind-the-scenes insanely fascinating and valuable.
I don’t see any (many?) arts professionals posting too much about how the sausage gets made, and I think it’d be valuable for us all to share more!
