Orchestral Programming as Cultural Reclamation
Why the works we choose to perform matter as much as how we perform them — and what it means to put Latin American composers on the same stage as the European canon.
New works from Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Argentina join the FILARMONIKA catalog — including three world premiere editions available for the first time.
FILARMONIKA Music Publishing is expanding its catalog this spring with twelve new works from composers across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Three of these are world premiere editions — works that have existed in manuscript but have never been published in performance-ready formats:
These join our existing catalog of over 100 works available for purchase, rental, and licensing.
Every work that exists only in manuscript is a work that doesn’t get performed. Publishing is the bridge between a composer’s desk and a conductor’s stand. By bringing these works into a modern catalog with professional parts, scores, and licensing infrastructure, we make them programmable.
Our goal remains the same: make it as easy to program Latin American orchestral music as it is to program the European standard repertoire.
